Name

lclReqDESC - local - request a pointer to a DESC record

Description

lclReqDESC passes a request to dbman asking for a pointer to a DESC record.

The request is passed in local mode.

This function is part of librmt.

Syntax

int lclReqDESC (
int fo,
LABEL *Lpnt,
DESC *Dpnt,
int verbosity
);

Arguments

fo

The file descriptor for the connection to dbman.

Lpnt

pointer to a LABEL record

Dpnt

pointer to a DESC record

verbosity

Defines the amount of messages to print. This value is passed on to SendRec. A value of 0 produces no messages. See the SendRec manpage for full details on available values.

Return Values

ERRok is returned if the transaction is successful.
The error code from the transaction is returned if there is a communications error.

This function isn’t all that useful to an application. It was added to the library because of a need to test this functionality in dbman(8) in both local and remote mode.
